Dear Parent/Caretaker:

GOOD NEWS FIRST!

Thank you! It has been a wonderful first year - we have been very happy to be in business and very thankful that you have joined us this year.

Moving! We are also excited to announce that (pending final approval) The House of Chords will move to 43 Golf Avenue. The new location has a large, private parking lot, which easily accommodates four vehicles. It will also be much safer for our students as there is no street to cross.

End of year performance:

1. Instead of the normal end of year recital, we request that each student make a small 30 second playback clip to one of the three tunes on the WAV-file (uploaded online) With appropriate lyrics for everyone.

2. For those students comfortable with this: You may also record a video clip of yourself playing a piece of music from this year, of your choice. We are hoping, of course, that all students will participate - the result will be a cool little production to be posted at the end of this year’s school calendar.

September 2020: It is still very far away but we are already preparing for the new school year. We hope, of course, to see you in the fall and will send pre-registration forms for the year 2020/2021 in the coming weeks. Please pre-register to ensure your desired time slot.

Website: Currently The House of Chords website is being professionally rebuilt, a new logo is being designed, and a photo shoot has been completed. We hope to have an enhanced, streamlined website that is quicker and easier to use on both mobile and desktop devices.

AND NOW THE NOT-SO-GOOD NEWS

Closing early this school year: We have had a fantastic first year! However, due to COVID-19 and subsequent government regulations, it has become very challenging to continue the operation of our little studio these last few weeks. We have remained open as long as possible,

but it has been very challenging to offer consistent services online. We regret that we have no option than to close: May 15th, 2020 will be the official last lesson day. Given the official government prognosis for continued social distancing, summer lessons and activities will not go ahead.

All makeup lessons already planned will proceed online. As promise, any COVID19 lesson credits from this school year will be honored in September 2020. All those who have paid their fees in full can choose either a refund or a credit towards the next year (2020/2021). Please indicate your preference; The House of Chords will issue revised invoices/credits, as appropriate.

We really apologise for the inconvenience. If there are any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us for anything.
